Celebrate Living:

This page is dedicated to my good friend Erin Graham. At 29 years of age, Erin was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the back of her nose going down her throat. The diagnosis was not good.

Our beautiful Erin with Fiance Jamie, in hospital for Chemo.

Living with her partner Jamie, and their first child Harlee who was only 8 months old. Jamies work contract ended and he was given another in Adelaide, so off they went. Erin bravely moved away from her family but most importantly her support network to help her through this battle.

Erin was lucky to be referred to some excellent doctors. She started 8 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. Visiting Adelaide hospital most days. Unable to drive home and violently ill day after day. Erin had two reasons to live and she wasn't giving up for a minute.

She lost her hair and had radiation burns from the treatment, but Erin kept smiling. She got ulcers in her throat, stopped producing saliva and lost the ability to taste and swallow, but Erin kept smiling. Erin became so weak, she was unable to get out of bed and needed help from her mum and Jamie's sister to care for Harlee.

After a few weeks Erin was fed through tubes in her stomach. Her liver failed and she was unable to keep anything down, being kept in hospital for weeks. But this was still not the toughest time.

The whole time she would send a weekly email, letting everyone know how she was going and included photos of her treatment and Harlee. So much pain and suffering. So much stress, worried there would be no tomorrow. Still Erin had the ability to be strong and tried to keep our spirts lifted, encouraging us to be strong. WOW what a woman. What a strong human being.
